Surgical Cost Containment Program (SCCP)
The Surgical Cost Containment Program (SCCP) is a combined solution to contain surgical expenditures related to medical implanted devices, specific to Workers’ Compensation, via a strategic partnership between Medical Implant Solutions, LLC and Orchid Medical.
The synergy between MIS and Orchid Medical was a necessary logical step for both companies to flourish and effectively serve the cost containment needs of our combined customer base. The Chief Executive Officer of MIS George R. Schoedinger, III MD is a champion focused on lowering the unnecessary increased expense of implantable medical devices with over 30 years as a practicing orthopedic surgeon. Conversely the Chief Executive Officer, Brian Carwile for Orchid Medical who has spent the last ten years focused on delivering ancillary services to Workers’ Compensation, such as DME, with supreme customer service in mind. This partnership forms the most effective delivery system for the combined SCCP service. This synergy allows each company to drive excellence in their respective core competency. MIS will focus on the utilization of implantable devices and influencing cost directly with the manufacturers of medical devices, while Orchid Medical leverages their proprietary system OMNI, operational expertise, and sales force to process and deliver SCCP with excellence.
The SCCP is our combined answer to lowering the costs to payers of workers’ compensation surgical claims. With typical markups north of 300% of medical implantable devices we have decided to combat an area that we feel is the most abusive via a combined company effort and our SCCP. The SCCP service, at no out of pocket cost to payers, will help contain costs and control the over utilization and unnecessary expenditures related to surgical procedures with expensive medical implants.
